Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was about to be released, and I created the website for the sales of the toys. The constraints were to work with the existing e-commerce framework and create animations for the “Action Toy Arena.” The entire site had to be designed, animated, coded, and implemented in just under two months – a tight deadline.
To organize this, I started with the final launch date and counted back to see what needed to be done by when. We needed layouts, animations of toys shot and turning into flash animations, and a 3D rendering of platforms for the Action Toy Arena.
Final Site design

When the toys arrived, they came with a script. I took a side office and created a green screen set for the toys, and made a team to shoot and key out the colors. This ultimately worked so well that we ended up being a week ahead of schedule.

At the same time, I created the platforms for the action toy arena in Maya. Then, I made short clips of them animating and passed them over to the Flash developer.
A prototype without all of the characters loaded. When you click on each small character, a bigger version fills the main screen, and it animates the figure.

I also created a page that allows you to click into each of the product types.
